What is a software application?

Software applications are programs that we usually use in computers. Software programs are used to help computer users to perform specific tasks with less effort and makes work more organized.
The major types of software’s are classified into three kinds, these are the following :
1. System software’s = is comprised of device drivers, servers, operating systems and other software’s.
2. Programming software’s = which are used by programmers in their different works.
3. Application software’s = which are used to perform task of different aspects.
What are software applications about?. Most know by the word “”app”" for short, software applications are further classified into different forms.
1. Application suites – most known as group of applications that performs different tasks. The most popular bundle of this kind is the micro-soft office, which contains spread sheets, or presentation makers such as micro-soft power point presentations, publishers and more.
2. Word processing software’s – mostly used to edit scripts or make programs, examples are : word pad and note pad or micro-soft word.
3. Multimedia software’s – used in listening or watching audio visual or audio only presentations. Examples for this are media player by micro-soft and other kinds of media player like Nero, V.L.C. and more.
4. Spread sheet software’s – micro-soft excel, lotus and more. This are used to encode data such as numbers and names.
5. Enterprise software’s – mostly used by as and organizational software that helps with the flow of the organization. A good example is Systems Applications and Products software.
6. Educational software’s – often used to find or store information’s. Examples are encyclopedia like Encarta for kids, google maps or trackers and more.
7. Software’s for engineering and product developments – used for designing and developing products.
8. Data bases – used for information and data storage.
9. Browser software’s – this are the ones that we are using to browse through the internet, examples are mozilla firefox, google chrome, safari browser and more..
10. Application software’s that are used on phones and digital devices – these are most commonly called as an app, which primarily aids in bringing digital devices in-touch with computer technologies. Examples are apps like games, facebook browsers for phones and more.
The creation of software’s are indeed very useful for us, in sharing information’s, making manual works more easier and efficient, for having fun and making things more organized in different ways.
