How did internet access started?

Internet access can be acquired easily with various internet service providers nowadays, but do you know how did internet begin?.
During 1950′s a research on point to point connection started, and on the coming of 1960′s J.C.R Licklider first proposed the idea of a global network of computers. Then Leonard Kleinrock developed the theory of packet switching by the use of telephone lines. It was on 1965 that the first dial-up connection was established, Lawrence Roberts connected a computer on Massachusetts to a computer on California using dial-up telephone lines. Later, Roberts developed the usage of protocols where multiple networks can be connected to each others, this is the start of ARPANET, which is the first name for internet. And the search continued to the development of different modes of internet..
The early internet was first used primarily in scientific purposes, military, school, by engineers and computer experts. Nowadays, internet access can be easily acquired through the services of different internet provider companies. On 1993, there are about 10 million internet users, this grew to 40 million on 1995 and 650 million on 2002. By now, there are about 1.97 billion internet users. Internet services varies in different speed today, there are connections by the use of dial-up, Digital Subscriber Line, television cable internet, fiber optics, wireless and satellite connectors.
INTRANET & EXTRANET
Internet connection are now used as the core foundation of modern businesses today, from music industry, film industry, videos, and business companies that went through online marketing.. Intranet and extranet are now used by different business. An intranet is connection of a local area network with the use of internet by the form of websites, that connects the members of business organization through their website, thus simplifying the work and making them more efficient and productive. Extranet on the other hand is an intranet which is available for access of people that are not part of an organization, examples are : vendors, buyers, suppliers or manufactures.
Internet Issues
Internet has been subject to different issues today. The issues of piracy, pornography and fraud are now the main debate in the world. People are now now copying the works of others and sells it for their own profit, which brings a great impact on music, film, software industry and many more. People also started to share different pornographic materials that desolates the mind of users, especially the teenagers and children’s. Internet has been also used to create different types of fraudulent acts..
Internet indeed is a very great creation, it allows us to access different information’s and to share it through out the world. It has connected the different regions of the world together and made human works much easier and faster. But we must be responsible in everything that we do in the internet, this is to preserve a very good creation that changed the world for the past 50 years. We must not bring this creation into failure, let us all be a responsible internet user.
